We were off to toowomba at 8 am in the morning.it was a cold morning.very, very cold.and it was super windy too.
Along the way,we saw a couple of toppled down trees, toppled table tops and things and leaves all strewn about.1 bus and 1 mini van took off with about 50 or so of us international students.
Our first stop:Point Picnic in Toowomba.it gave us an overview view of Toowomba.it was gorgeous.Toowomba is 700 to 800 meters above sea level, therefore,we could feel the winds much more strongly.it was really really strong from the moment we stepped down the bus.
Coffee and a toilet stop later,we were off to the Japanese Garden which was our second stop.Japanese influenced garden decors was most prominent in this particular garden.
We were suppose to head off for the big parade by noon but found out that it was posponed to 1 due to the winds.so it was a walk about in downtown Toowomba as we looked around the shops there.
By 1pm,the saddest thing of the trip occurred.the parade was totally cancelled due to the strong winds.*sob*sob*
but there were still some beautiful displays of flowers.there were a few smaller floats that graced a very small parade which still made up for it.
We then left for Laurel Bank Park where bountiful flowers made up shapes of fruits and veggies from sky view.More photos were taken and then it was off to the prize winning garden.
I know if mum was here, she will be very very interested with it coz it is so gorgeous.i dont have a green thumb.i 'killed' my first plant by the age of 12.and this is no ordinary plant.it was a cactus.how the heck did i killed it???!!!!im still amazed by my 'capabilities' sometimes..hehehe....
anyway, after that it was time to head home to Brisbane.photos are up,so enjoy.
