The queues were long, the train stations, buses and city cats were packed to the max and everywhere i turned, there is people, all walking towards a common destination.Southbank parklands.
But all that crowd was well rewarded as Brisbane's skies once again lit up at precisely 7pm in a myrid of colours as the fireworks resonated through from Regatta all the way down to Riverside. It began with the RAAF F1-11 dump and burn display and as the first burst came on,the crowd hooted and cheered. It was beautiful as we were entertained to half an hour of pure joy of fireworks.Burst after burst of the fireworks came as it danced to songs played in the background. It ended with another RAAF F1-11 dump and burn display and a final burst of fireworks.
The pictures are up so,enjoy the wonderful fireworks!
This is my 3rd riverfire festival and i smiled recounting the past 2 events.another collection to my memories. This year's event was much better than the last year and i was so glad it was.My view was uninterrupted as the group sat on the sandy man made beach of southbank except for 2 spotlights and a few trees.im thankful as its not human body.being the shorty that yours truly is,that was what that always blocked my view for the past 2 years. The setting was perfect as the fireworks unfold right in the middle of the two spotlights.how magical can it get? Some of the pictures will contain that glaring white light.thats the spotlight by the way.
cannot move la!As once again,i joined the crowds to go home,i could still hear the excited chatters of the little ones and the comments by the adults. And i basked in the atmosphere of a night of fantastic fireworks.
If all that is not enough reason to smile, something else did and i smiled even way before the whole event starts.
Explosions of Happiness.A magical night indeed.
